Confess your sins ... so you'll sanctified (James 5, 16)

(Bible text in the title to the unit translation in English Orignal. "So that you may be healed")

02/09/2011

is The Sündenbekennen for me remains a question. How many people over I have to confess it? How detailed? What sins? etc.

is "one of you depressed? Then he should pray. Is one happy? Then he should sing a song of praise. Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church and let them pray over him and anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith shall save the sick and the Lord shall raise him, if he has committed sins will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for one another, that ye sanctified. Much can fervent prayer of a righteous man. " (James 5, 13-16)

James says that the purpose of confession is forgiveness and healing. He asks us not to constantly deal with our sins, but in times of illness. I think, "illness" must mean not only a physical problem, but also a mental, emotional or anything else that our Impaired relationship with God.

As I have heard and read, it is not beneficial to constantly rummage in our sins, or to recall previous, already forgiven sins and again to grieve over this. But in some cases, such as when there are emotional wounds or unconfessed sins of the past, it might be beneficial to bring this to light to evaluate them properly, forgive those who have injured one, and to ask for forgiveness and to receive. If this is clarified, we should not continue to dig it.

It becomes more difficult when it comes to current repeated sins. Since I have no good answer.

And even if we do not constantly keep on the lookout for sins, it may be quite sensible to review from time to different areas of our lives, whether they are in God's eyes in order.

Let's not forget that Satan can attack us for no reason so to get us to our past mistakes and sins remembered to discourage us. He we can also make restless and full of guilt, without any real sin is present. He wants us to feel hopeless. If we accuse the Holy Spirit is a sin, it is quite different. He calls us to clarify things with God and find peace.

justification and sanctification

02/09/2011

In a conversation about faith and works (in my time in the community), I came to the conclusion that distinguish two concepts can. All Christians are called in the letters of the NT Holy , because we are justified or declared righteous "by our first faith and repentance (the change in our thinking). On the other hand, we should always be holy, for our healing or "make holy" is a process that our whole life long-lasting.

Rev. 22, 11b: "... the righteous act more just, and the Holy strive on to holiness." (STP)

One should avoid both extremes:

a) to the redemption fix: I am saved, I'm forgiven, I can never lose, I do not need more for my good deeds and to take care of my spiritual growth.

b) be fixed on the good days so that they become a prerequisite of salvation.

I think we should believe that we are accepted by God because of His grace. We do not need to advised to panic for fear of losing salvation. On the other hand, we should beware: if we take the matter to God too easily, this might happen.

read: "All Christians are called in the letters of the New Testament saints, for we are justified or declared righteous "With our first faith and repentance (the change in our thinking)."

RA: I am not sure if this is really in the NT, the original reason for someone to call "holy." It sounds good, but I'm not sure if it's the exact reason .... Maybe Christians are first and foremost "holy" because God has created faith in us? Because God so works in us that we regret? Maybe that makes any difference, but I'd mention it anyway.

Anyway, I am convinced that we are beings with free will and we can see what happens against God's will.

We want you to show up at the end of this zeal

8th 2. 2011

Hebrews 6, 9-12:

9 When you, brethren, we are in spite of what is said (warning that the waste) from the better and convinced them that their part have the salvation.

10 For God is not unjust to forget your actions and the love you have shown his name, that ye have served the saints, and still serves.

11 We do, however, that every one of you shows in the view of the richness of our hope to end the same zeal,

12 so you will not tire, but imitators are those who, by virtue of their faith and their perseverance heirs of the promises. "

" Convinced of the better ", but in any case, the redemption of works of love accompanied. What should I do if I think I have enough love in my life works? Really not easy. Right now I can hardly deal with anything other than the care of my little children - and even that is done far from perfect. I am unable to add additional acts of love add, but I can in everything what I do, remains to be patient, good faith and other settings struggle.

2 Pt 1, 5-9: 5

why is all diligence, connect with your faith virtue, the virtue the knowledge

6 with the knowledge self-control, with the self-control the persistence with which endurance piety,

7 with piety the brotherhood and the Fraternity the love .

8 If this is all there with you and grows, then it takes you a slow, infertility, so that their Jesus Christ our Lord more deeply recognize.

L writes: is "What do I do if I think of it to a few occur in my life? Really not easy. Right now I can hardly deal with anything other than the care of my little children - and that happens far from perfect "

RA. It is pleasant to talk about the Bible, as we did in the Community did. But because the Bible talks were often designed to refute false teachings to other communities, I think that God valued the upbringing of children is higher than such "acts". I'm sure. I suspect that it is much harder to pull up children than to speculate in the evening talks on spiritual topics, as in the community was common.

8.2.11 Jose

I think the Bible passage from the Letter of Peter clearly shows how we have been cleaned and that we are still at the same time a lack of good works that accompany our beliefs. The cleaning is done already by the blood of Christ by faith alone. As I understand Paul, he also writes about the cleaning when we were "declared righteous". It is something that has happened in the past. We were told to be fair and purified by faith alone and without works, as explained in Romans 4:00 clearly.

We were cleaned and we are just. This is great news for us :-)

9.2.11 L (blog author):

with "deeds," I did not mean to criticize others .

As for the Bible: it is primarily the source to learn from God, not to disprove something, but to seek new clarity and balance in teaching and practical life.

course, there's not enough just to do this alone. Good works so close communication and communion with Christians to build up Christianity, but also encounters with Infidels to them to prove God's love.

we educate most children by our own example.

RA:

L wrote: "Good works so close communication and communion with Christians in order to build the Christian .. .

RA: Maybe I see the works of the community back in to a gloomy light. Because I understand the kind of community that was practiced in the community, now lovingly as a manipulation. It means that all members as Robots talk and act like mindless zombies. When we said, "I am glad and happy," then it happened in a way that outsiders wondered, "Is something happening? A disaster? ". Our face was petrified that these words were just words to convince the other that should make sure that everything was fine. But it was not right. Our feelings were suppressed in the community. Our unintentionally hollow smile and the cold words may convince ourselves, but others do not.

L writes: "but also encounters with unbelievers, for them to show God's love."

RA: I also think that this is important. But still, the raising of children is "to prove God's love" more valuable than this kind of, as we did in the community.

The idea to prove God's love to unbelievers is good. We are called to. But not at the expense of our own souls. Who wants to be together with zombies who want to sing with them in a chorus:

"I am crucified with Christ. No longer I who live but Christ lives in me. " (Gal 2, 20)

I do not know in which direction our community is developing. Maybe one day we see members of the community that they have only one hand and one eye. Because they may have finally learned together from the words of Jesus, how to defeat the sins: Matthew 5: 29f "If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away! ... And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw them away! For it is better for you to lose one of your members than that your whole body go into hell. "

L (blog author)

RA, I think you see the community too gloomy.

And if someone does something that is done in the community, it must not mean that it happens in the same manner as in the extreme community.

Someone should not be afraid to do good things just because someone else abused these things.

9.2.11

RA

In other words, the end does not justify the means. But both are connected and influence each other. The goal of our actions may be good, but if we use it means that God has not given us, then be the result of only a shadow of the original design.

If children are not incorporated into the plan, then our "ship" as a Christian community, sooner or later run on the rocks. The "special situation" of the community has been going on for over 20 years and there is no end in sight. The community is unable to integrate family life.

I draw parallels to our community again and again to show that every thing has its price.

I would not even want to say that the now has to do with incorrect or false doctrine, but it is the result of my rational thinking. We have reason and intuition, "to judge", reached the degree of the "club of seasoned bachelor" infidels. Most of our mission objectives to unmarried young people were limited, which were able to jump on our high-speed train.

I know that family life is compared with the community at a snail's pace. And outsiders can get frustrated, impatient and frustrated to do with their life that is so different from the lifestyle of our community. But the New Testament calls us in many places, to be patient.

a "slow Life "would make it easier for outsiders to see it as compatible with their current situation. It gives them more hope to join us. You have family life and with their experience, they can certainly help us to solve many issues of raising children.

10.2.11: K

The Second Coming of Our Lord in Scripture is often compared with fire. I think we can derive some conclusions. The Apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 3, that our works are examined in this fire.

means, in my imagination that: All evil will be burned by this fire.

also some of our actions ... I mean, that God's grace is doing everything to save everyone - everyone has a choice: either he decides to God and Jesus, or he turns on the contrary to these evil deeds. Likewise we read in John 3, 19 on the court.

The difference between me and you, Jose, consists in the fact that you think that this is not true for repentant Christians.

But I do not think our disagreement concerns the notion of the gracious God, but the understanding of human freedom.

+++++++++++

17.2.11 Jose

I think it is a declaration of our justification, which is based on our faith. Our works will also be tested in the fire. Paul writes to Christians who are saved in the end, even if they have not built with sumptuous materials and on the foundation of Christ. Our works, good or bad form, not the basis for our eternal destiny. We are saved by faith alone, but we will receive rewards and we can enjoy an abundant life in Christ when we live in fellowship with Him.

I am convinced.

Saved by grace to do good works

01/28/2011

I can not recall any significant change in the theory of grace, either during the time in the community even beyond: Saved by grace to do good works. We should do what is right and good, but we can not earn our salvation (buy). The grace gives us the energy (power) for the saints to do good and avoid evil.

regard to feelings: I feel rather the expectation that or change it, not so much faith, hope and encouragement that God would change me and can change. But it is probably now more like myself, to find this encouraging.

I agree with an earlier comment that our heart / mind / thoughts affect our actions and for God is important. Paul invites us to renew our thoughts / our minds (Romans 12:2). A proper behavior without extensive modification (conversion) flies when circumstances change. We can see it in the Old Testament, how much depended on the behavior of the Israelites of the sanctity of their kings or unholy.

Comments:

01/31/2011 Jose: I would like to comment

that because to me it seems that even if the group is the Roman Catholic Church criticized the understanding of grace (and salvation?) Is quite similar to the Catholic.

I think that means there salvation: grace + good works and perseverance to the end. This type of theology in any way familiar to us in God's love. Love is the central message in the New Testament. If it is true that God demonstrates His own love, then it can not be that we have to doubt every day, even if we properly have lived and done good works.

Just one example: What would you think of earthly parents who let their child down when it was disobeyed? We would be such a bad and unloving parents . Keep God is the perfect father (literally parent) that his children will not let you down for disobedience. It makes no sense to me that the absolute love of God should be so merciless.

God's love is greater. It must be unconditional and we can not make us at the beginning or end.

My understanding of God is extremely influenced by the idea of grace and I believe that his love is beyond human understanding. Just opposite to that which teaches the group.

I thank you that you have addressed these issues.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with everyone. Amen.

Jose writes: "I want to comment on this because to me it seems that even if the group is the Roman Catholic Church criticized the understanding of grace is quite similar to "

RA: You see, it's not easy" (and salvation?). to think outside the cage. " Our community is very much against the Catholic. Church set, but in fact they think very highly in the categories of the Catholic Church. Our community often uses the same arguments as the Catholic Church.

Therefore, it is quite funny (and somewhat sad) to read the dispute between Joseph and Gerald Aufreiter Kluge. Both face the same problems. Joseph does not want to admit that many problems of our community the same as in the Catholic Church.

therefore dominates in Joseph's argument the child's cry: "Look at your own church" - "Your errors are much greater," etc.

I feel very challenged to answer, because I'm Catholic Christ (once I was in the Community).

Yes, in some respects the doctrine of "community" similar to the Roman Catholic. Theology.

Now I feel loved by God. This love is a free gift of God (grace), no result (more of a reason) for the good works. The "problem" is my free will and that I can trust God.

summary, I would say that God wants to save all people. But all people have the freedom to opt for a life with God (at the moment or forever) is :-(

The difference I have experienced in the Catholic Church the grace and practically the way I described it. In the "community" it was only a theory. Practically I lived there in fear of losing salvation and to be excluded.

+++++++++++

06/02/2011

RA: I would like to take a further comparison, which is certainly flawed, but still ...

Perhaps our community a specific response to the Catholic Church. And in the separation of the Catholic Church was our community like a teenager who saw all sorts of bad things with his parents. I would imagine more common to have fellowship from the mistakes of the Catholic: that the original intention of our community was good. Church to learn, etc. But it is often teenagers, who want to do things differently than their parents - the result is the same or even worse. And that's why they think in the same categories, and the solutions are consequently often under these categories.

However, we can see that the theology of the community also produces many different results than the Catholic. Theology. For we are the disciples associated with higher demands. Some results of which were good, some not.

We put a higher standard to the Unit. But instead build a "common ground", it had more negative impact. Our paranoid search for small deviations would lead to the massive number of exclusions.

We put a higher standard of the love, known as the strict emphasis on the warning. I see it again rather than a response to a religious and tolerant environment, and less than universal and timeless concept of love that is not determined by different situations. Spread God's love is no different light in different situations, different ages. It is eternally the same love.

+++++++++

07/02/2011; Jose: In the Catholic Church

you can now never be sure of your salvation. God's love "disappears" when you can not stay faithful to the end.

justification by faith is more a process "made to meet" as "explains faithfully as possible. Correctly, that we would be in the moment in which we believe explains justified. The cath. Theology of justification comes from, especially Augustine, who was not very good Greek and translated it so wrong. Unfortunately, there is this teaching of justification and still is as a process and not seen as a declaration.

Maybe I read too much

have and I am always looking for home again. I am always amazed, how can it be that Christianity is the same everywhere, but not in thoughts of grace, as I find them in the Bible. Grace is God's free gift for me. We receive salvation by faith and the moment we are declared righteous and our past, present and future sins are forgiven.

Most Christians think that one can lose salvation because they mix the relationship with God with the disciples. Once we have become children of God through faith in Jesus, we can lose that status of childhood ever again. Think about it: My sister joined the group and behaved like an idiot. You know: no contact get upright, his rude and show no love for our parents. Do you think about, my parents would offend them and deny that she was her child? If they did, we would think that they were not particularly good and loving parents. And God, our father (literally parent) is the best father ever can give. I think it would be crazy to think that he might offend us. He will never abandon us.

As long as my sister is so hostile, they lose contact with their parents and the community is broken. It touches not the relationship that still exists. You will always be her child, no matter what she does, but she can not enjoy their company (and vice versa) as long as it does not change her mind and regretted it. To repair the community again, she must admit that they acted dumb and then come back into the loving outstretched arms of their parents.

This is just one example, but I believe with my whole heart. I believe that God's grace is totally free and that he loves every immortal with his love. I would say to the world and all of you.

God's blessings for you in Christ!

07/02/2011; RA

Jose "The cath. Theology of justification comes from, especially Augustine, not very good Greek could and therefore wrongly translated. "

RA: I am reminded of some words of Gottfried Holic (cited here from any forum of outsiders): I hope it is clear that neither the Roman Catholics, nor the Greek Orthodox or Russian Orthodox, nor the Pentecostal and charismatic groups really church. The same is true of the Protestant groups, because they are important issues Students of Augustine and opponents of Jesus and Paul. "

I am in the same relation to the Community, which, like this Catholic Church. I do not think it goes against the theology to be from someone (say, for example, against the Community). Even if I see that the understanding of the community of grace is not enough and that we understand grace quite different, yet have other important issues (to be clarified about love, unity, salvation ....). And I prefer to do it the way I think in the Bible, but also the opinions of others (such as yours) included into the consideration. Because otherwise I too will eventually "see" I am the one true Christian, and make my Christian friends in Tallinn (10 in number) the only true church, I can find. :-)

for me is "love" is the key to clarify these issues. If we use this word but the thought categories of the community, I meet a lot of questions that are not easy to clarify.

In my current understanding of grace, I agree with your description. God loves us all with the same love and this is unconditional. And we are called to love others with God's love. But what if we do not? What if someone stops to worship God and even against God turns? Will he then be later also against his will in heaven? Many such questions arise, awaiting clarification.

Nevertheless, I agree with you that the members of our community more in the role of those who have given up to love their parents, while their parents still love them. And not turned over (as it probably represents the community).

Jose 02/07/2011:

I should be careful with my words and opinions and stay humble and always willing to learn from others and not to judge . I notice now that I the last in my posting did not do. Sorry!

I think that the Catholic Church could be good, and that all who believe in Jesus Christ redeemed (1 Cor 15, 1-4). But still I am of the opinion that there is so much grace, love and freedom for us in Christ. :-)

Yes, I admit that in some places difficult and challenging sounds. I'm still trying to occupy myself with the promise of redemption and the opportunities that lie therein.

may turn people away from God because they do not understand how free really the grace and how much God loves them. For me, it is often difficult to me to approach God, for I doubt his love for me. If I am quite sure that he accepts and loves me even if I have sinned (perhaps repeatedly), it is easy to go to him and to act with the great opportunities in my heart. We need for our sinfulness, cleaning and treatment:) Fortunately, Jesus knows he has to deal with us.

The grace helps us, God to be honest, I think.

I find it often difficult to see God as my father, for that is so personal.

It is interesting to discuss the issue. I want to thank you all.

+++++++++

02/07/2011 RA: Thank you, too, Jose, for your contribution.

+++++++++

02/08/2011 RA:

I want to emphasize that the quotation from Gottfried Holic addressed to excluded (at a time when he already own from the Community excluded) was

NOW LIKE I say as an excluded that one should not rashly preclude the thoughts of other denominations, as does Gottfried Holic. With two sets Gottfried succeeds to exclude about 90% of those who see themselves as Christians. In this way, we learn nothing from the past and move quickly into the same dead end: any other church is full of heresy and only we are the true church.

I find it absolutely necessary to not only learn from our mistakes (even if the Community seeks to learn from the mistakes of the Catholic Church and other denominations), but also to seek out the good of our community.

I think it is not sufficient to deal with our past and to remember the good things in our community. I miss the same enthusiasm in the search for the good Things in the other denominations to us to make these good things already available. move

The more we search for the good things outside the community, the more it seems to me that the good things and thoughts of the community are helpful solutions in close relation to the outside world.

The good things in our community were considered by outsiders as something strange and often impractical. These thoughts were often with the teachings and life of other faiths to reconcile.

We thought perhaps that it was up to them to understand us, because we have recognized these thoughts as good and right and but need to understand and accept. But even trying to think about the logic of such a group that is as complete as it was our community, and has developed (in the seclusion of) their own ideas and arguments through a comparatively long period of time.

We thought that all those who are honest to God, reach the same conclusions as we should. I think that was too much to expect. We live in different circumstances. Often outsiders are married, have children, etc. Of course, our community has also developed some ideas and maybe even useful solutions to a family life. But we were rather like astronomers who wanted to explain to people the things from another planet. We lived our lives in the everyday routines that were so different from that of other Christians outside the community. We were the outside world so alien to us in our mission to talk with outsiders rather talking past each other.

It is first of us to understand the situation of the other, then take us more seriously.

Jose wrote: " We receive salvation by faith and in this moment we are declared righteous and our past, present and future sins are forgiven us "

I do not believe that all sins will be granted automatically with no regrets. John writes in his first letter: "If anyone sins, we have an advocate with the Father - Jesus Christ" . Why do we need a lawyer, if all sins are already forgiven? And before that, John writes that we must confess our sins. Then Christ cleanses us.

Jose wrote: "She will always remain a child, no matter what she does, but they can not enjoy their community ... if it does not change their mind and regretted it. To restore the community, it has to admit that they acted stupid and come back into the loving outstretched arms of their parents. "

If they need repentance and restoration of communion with their parents, so we need repentance / conversion to God, if we have distanced ourselves from God. Then we can again have fellowship with him. I think somebody once said that it was not very sensitive to God when he someone against his will after death in his (God's) Community obsolete.

There are also warnings to fall away from God, 6 for example, in Heb That's why I also believe that it (the fall) must be possible.

In any case, I find but a lot of hope and love in the Bible. Do not lose heart.

RA: I see no contradiction. When we think of the legal proceedings in our earthly courts, then see we find that even those who are probably right, need a lawyer. This is common practice.

I think L said the station 1 Jn 2:1. It is my understanding that there is the Judgement Day (Judgement Day) is meant. I think we will all have that day and then need Jesus as our lawyer. He defended us then. There he is our advocate. We need it there, even if we were sinless. He will confirm to the Father, that we were believers.

When I think about the sins I have committed and forgotten, it scares me.

I certainly have never researched deep enough in my heart to reveal all my sins and bring them to the cross. I know I am a habitual sinner. I recognized in the community: The more I struggled to pull the sins rigorously zauderhafter the more I became. I lost hope to come on this journey with my sins to an end. It took me hope and strength. And then there was not enough that I own my own sins in me tried to acknowledge them. Also my brothers and sisters in Christ, my fellow soldiers in the Community "helped" me here to cover more and more sins in me.
