Emerged Christmas a pagan festival

12/27/2007

It is known that Christmas was a pagan festival, the first Centuries after Jesus was given a Christian meaning.

But to what extent were these festivals to worship the sun or other idols, and to what extent they were merely occasions for fun and celebration in itself?

As Paul wrote, are the gods of void and sacrificial meat to eat is no problem. We only have to be no stumbling block to the weak brethren who do not have this knowledge.
If today, has lost at least in Western countries, Christmas his inner connection to idolatry, then it should not be a problem to follow some Christian traditions pagan origin which are not bad in itself? Sure We should take care not to worship the idol of consumption, but that is valid all year round and not just for Christmas.

The majority of people but loves the tradition and go with the flow ... So can we take a moderate and Christ-centered way out or is it as evil and pagan, that true Christians, followers of Christ, the celebration of Christmas have to reject completely? In a way, I think that Christmas and other festivals are not necessary, we can in our hearts every day have a party for the Lord.

Christmas, a celebration of the birth of Jesus or a heathen ... Tradition.
Originally, I think Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus. We of course know that Jesus was born a few months earlier or later, but that's probably not important.
Satan may be smart enough to put our heavenly feast on one of his days, but I think we can completely ignore !
The Bible says that Satan came only to steal from us. .. Thus, let us pay him back! Our Christmas is the celebration of Christian worship of God made man! One way to live forever, even if we ourselves have sometimes lost their own battle against sin.
It is precious to know that he died for us, which means that he took our punishment and we made it free.
Free to live, to love free, free to all of us to enjoy the beautiful things on earth that God has created for us, human beings!
And we must also remember: the good deeds in our lives are knitted from God.
    God bless you! Wow!
